Students crumple a piece of paper. The paper will represent a planet.

Next, students place the wad of paper on a pencil. This way, they can rotate the planet by spinning the pencil.

The class rotates their planets as the sun (lamp bulb) shines.

Students then walk around the sun--the planets revolve around the sun as they rotate.
