The Parents' Corner
Parent Involvement
click here for the report card for parents.
The Cyberschool encourages and welcomes parent support and participation because we recognize that when parents get involved and partner with our school, students achieve more and exhibit more positive attitude and behaviors.
Getting involved at your child's school has various benefits:
Student achievement is greater. Students have higher grades and test scores, better attendance, and homework is completed more consistently.
Students show improved behavior and have lower rates of suspension for disciplinary reasons.
When parents and schools work together in partnership the expectations for learning are higher and the support of families adds for a better reputation within the community.
Getting Involved at the Cyberschool
There are many opportunities to volunteer within the school:
parent/teacher conferences field trips
office help special events
fund-raising classroom assistant
tutor cafeteria aids
extracurricular activities before/after school care
and many more....
Parent Committee
The Cyberschool has a parent committee that commits to assisting the school in helping to make important decisions involving the students.
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. trough 7:00 p.m. We would like to see all parents have a voice in the schools decision-making process. Please join us!
Parent Resource Center
The Parent Resource Center was established as a result of the goal of the school to provide a community environment where students, parents, teachers, and administrators work together for the success of the students and school. The goal of the center is to provide support services to parents and to assist them in making their childs educational experiences the best that they can be.
The Parent Resource is hoping to start the following services in the near future:
- conducting parent and family workshops is areas of parent and family involvement, community awareness, and personal growth and development.
- offering adult education programs such as adult literacy, ESL or GED classes, computer classes, financial planning and consumer education.
- organizing special make-it-take-it sessions to create learning materials for use at home.
- establishing information and homework hot lines.
- training parents in methods of observing classrooms and supporting classroom observations.
These a just a few of the plans we have established for the center.
